During the 7 action-packed days you can expect to learn:
- Making your own flint axe and knife
- Handmade arrows and flint arrowheads
- Natural cordage
- Different firelighting methods and fire lays
- Friction firelighting, including bow drill, hand drill, fire saw and pump drill
- Knife and axe sharpening
- Primitive basketry
- Tree / Plant ID
- Wild plants for food and medicine
- Essential knots
- The Primitive kitchen
- Natural navigation by the sun and the stars
- Shelter construction – from individual to group
- Backwoods Crafts… and much, much more
Everything will be carefully explained and demonstrated. You will then have a chance to have a go yourself, all under the watchful eye of numerous instructors.
The skills and techniques learned will undoubtedly stand you in excellent stead for a much greater appreciation, understanding and enjoyment of Nature.
Instructors will always be on hand throughout the course to help and assist you to learn as much as possible. You will be provided with two laminated guides produced by the British Mammal Society (British Mammals' Tracks and Signs & The Key to British Land Mammals), and a Cambrian Survival Trip Plan to take away.
